Do I Need To Register Domain For My Blog?
Webistes like www.blogger.com are offering simple way to make a blog. One of disadvatnages is that in this case you will not have your own domain name, instead your blog will have addres like this: blogname.blogspot.com.
Someone will say that having your own domain name is not important as long as you write interseting posts. Many quality blogs can be found on blogger.com.
The truth is that quality of your posts is most important thing. But if you want to be noticed and remembered anomg milions of blogs, having your domain name instead of subdomain can be very helpful. If you want to write about your pet dog, you probably don’t need your own domain name. But if you are professional and you want to make blog that will help you in building your professional reputation, it is very important to register your domain name.
Free blog hosts like the ones mentioned above offer unlimited space for your text…but not for pictures, movies, and music that you may want to upload to share with your readers. Especially if you have a large reader-base or one that’s geared directly towards media interests, this is a big deal. Every serious web hosting provider is giving you houndreds of gigabytes of web hosting space, so you will have enough space if you want to post lot of images, videos and music.
Have you ever seen corporate website on free hosting? No, you didn’t.
Here is what professional blogger John Chow says about this topic in his e-book “Make Money Online With John Chow”:
“Having your domain name makes you look more professional. While it may not make you a pro-blogger, the ad networks will take you more seriously. Some ad networks will not accept your site unless it has its own domain name.”
And I would just add that some free blog services will not allow you to have advertisements on your blog. Without your domain you can loose a lot of money. Maybe you are not planning to earn money from your blog, but if you manage to attract and keep visitors and RSS subscribers then your blog has a potential to earn money. For small investment a blog can make you some extra income.

So dumb! I can’t even find out how to create a blog domain name, Is it the same as my e-mail address without the “@_____.com? Anoyherwords would it look like this? >>> majorhhi.blog.com You can see I never knew what a blog was until today. Now I”m really feeling stupid.

thank you for the information about blogs. i have heard the term, i kinda, but never really knew what one was. more terms will be looked up to help more of what i read here. do you know if there is a dictionary site for electronic media (free hosting, cpc, etc.
