Post About Writing Blog Posts
Yes, I know I broke one of the most important bloggers rules - to publish a post at least once a week. I decided that publishing post once a week is enough frequent for me. But, as you can see I published last post two weeks ago! I can try to find some excuse: Eastern holidays (Orthodox church celebrates Eastern on april 25th this year), I had some other important work to do. But the point is that it is very easy to get lazy. Successful bloggers write often, some of them write new post every day. There are two reasons why is that so important:
- If you publish posts regulary there is better chance that you will attract regular visitors and RSS subscribers. Personally, I don’t think that anyone can write quality posts every day (it is possible only if few people writes for one blog). That’s why I think that writing one or two posts per week is good publishing frequency.
- The more posts you have it is more likely that your blog will be listed on search engines for more phrases. When you start blogging you probably have one phrase in mind and you try to optimize your blog for that phrase, but as time passes and number of your posts grows you’ll get more and more visitors from other “weaker” phrases.
So, I’ll try to discipline myself. It is not easy. You need an idea for your post, and then you have to sit in front of computer and write that post. Time spent on blogging is not just time spent writing a post. It is also time you spend thinking about new posts and reading other blogs. If you want to succeed you have to be in touch with other blogs from your niche. Reading other people’s blogs often gives me idea for my posts. Sometimes, I think I have a good idea for a post, but someone else wrote a good post about same topic. In that case, I put link to that post.
The point is that making blog is not free at all. You have to invest a lot of time in your blog (and, as you know time is money 
).
